Captain Steven Sellers

Captain Steven Sellers was born and raised on the local waters of Key West. From early childhood as so many youngsters in Key West do...Steven was on the water every minute. Little did he realize at that moment he was building an impressive foundation for his adult life and profession as a renowned offshore guide and a valued member of the elite Key West Pro Guides team.

From the early days Captain Steven was a competitive angler with numerous wins and successes to his credit. Moving from competition to Commercial fishing was the first giant step in his lifelong dream of professional charter fishing. Commercial fishing provided years of experience and build a vast knowledge of the fishery well beyond that of any recreational fishermen. Today, Captain Steven has completed his journey to charter boat captain and professional guiding.

From the helm of his state of the art light tackle Conch center console Captain Steven patrols the reef and remote wrecks as well as our distant offshore blue waters. Recognized quickly as a very productive guide, Captain Steven also possesses a warm and friendly personality making the perfect combination of aggressive fishing but always with fun at the heart of every trip off the dock. Captain Steven rapidly built a strong following of anglers from around the world returning year after year to fish Key West with him. This speaks volumes of the experience provided when you step aboard with Captain Steven and the Key West Pro Guides team.

Offshore Snapper Trip with Captain Steve
All day long we had non-stop fishing action! Captain Steve put us on the Mangrove Snapper right from the start. We could have reached our limit (5 per person!) within an hour, but we decided to stay a little longer to load up on the big fellas! After that, we tried some vertical jigging and live bait drifting for African Pompano. We had a few takers, but weren't having any luck getting them to the boat. Steve wants you catching fish all day long, so we moved to another spot about 15 miles offshore where we finished the day targeting Amberjack and Yellow-eye Snapper with a lot of American Red Snapper mixed in as well (unfortunately they're out of season right now). The highlight of the day was landing a 90lb Amberjack on a 6000 size spinning reel in 300ft of water. WHAT A FIGHT! It took 20-30 minutes and a lot of teamwork to land this monster of a fish! You can check out the pictures on the Key West Pro Guides Facebook page. Just look for the worn out guy with a cold beer lying next to a fish that's about the same size as he is. When we arrived back at the dock, it was incredible to see the excitement of the other charter captains at the size of the fish we caught that day. It truly was an incredible experience and can't wait to do it again soon! Hopefully when the American Red Snapper is in season!

Key West fishing Charter
We had a fishing trip booked with a different company who cancelled on us the day prior to our trip. I scrambled on-line and found Key West Pro Guides so I called the number and Roc answered the phone. Roc was awesome. He got us set up on a trip the following morning and promised we would have a great time and catch a lot of fish. We went out with Captain Steve, who was flat out awesome! Steve put us on fish all day and we came back with a lot of sore arms and a ton of fish to eat! I would highly recommend this organization to anyone looking for a great day of fishing in Key West.

On the fish all day
Captain Steve got us on the fish from the very start of the trip to the end. Caught so many fish we hit our quota. Also landed i nice lemon shark on 30lb test line. Can’t wait to go out again next year they were complete professionals and delivered what they promised. Would recommend them in a heart beat

Great day with Capt. Steve
Did a 4 guy offshore trip with Capt. Steve. He put us on fish from start to finish with huge amberjack to finish the day. Roc from Key West pro guides set us up and everything went smooth. I am going to book my next excursion with these guys and I recommend them for anyone looking to fish Key West.

Captain Steven Sellers was outstanding 100% satisfaction!
Captain Steven Sellers with Key West Pro Guides was very accommodating. I would recommend him to anyone. We had 5 people fishing with a variety of age and fishing knowledge. Steven made it enjoyable for everyone. We had a great trip with him on the reef in Key West. He put us on some yummy yellow fin snapper and my son managed to reel in a 200 lb plus lemon shark as a bonus. Hurricane Hole Restaurant at the marina did an excellent job with cooking our catch on our return.100 percent satisfaction!
