Captain Jared Cyr
Captain Jared Cyr is one of the truly exceptional shallow water guides here at KWPG. Jared's knowledge of the 'skinny' waters here in the backcountry of Key West is unequalled. Growing up the son of a very accomplished Key West captain gave him an advantage most can only dream to have.
Capt. Jared is first call with many of the best outfits here in Key West, with Jared, the day is all about what you want to fish for. Capt. Jared shows that patience needed for the beginner and the expertise for the accomplished fly or spin angler. His disposition is second to none on the dock, when not on the boat fishing; he's on the dock talking about fishing. Capt. Jared has been featured in many magazine articles and runs a drop dead gorgeous Maverick Super Skiff.
Hey Jared... Wanted to quickly thank you again for three wonderful days on the water. Chris and I are still bragging about the tarpon and Permit, had no idea it could be that good! Next year we want to get them on Fly, please let me know when the worm hatch goes off so we can plan to head that way, only 6 hours to Key West form our house. Thanks again man... Mark
Just finished our cruise and can't stop thinking about those Tarpon. I sent some pictures to you for your website, a few came out great. Looking forward to coming back to Key West just to fish and would like to charter you again. This time I want to bring my kids with me, both are in their late teens. Please give me a shout when you can to arrange a few dates.
Thanks, Ted Stocks
I have to tell you about our trip with Jared Cyr. As I told you when we booked this trip, we were novices at best. I wasn't sure if my wife would go for the shallow water trip, but am so glad you talked us into it. I landed two Tarpon in the high 80lb. range and a real nice permit about 14lbs. Jared then insisted we stay a bit longer to go for a Grand Slam? I asked what that was and he said it was like the Triple Crown. We chased a few schools of Bonefish around, but they were also being chased by a few sharks it looked like. I never got a close shot, but it wasn't for Jared not poling around like crazy. I really appreciated his efforts, it was an amazing experience. I can't wait to get back down that way, first class job all the way!!
